Entry-level waterproof shoes.

The footwear is laboratory- and field-tested, equipped with coating to ensure optimal waterproofing and breathability. First, the shoe is immersed in water while internal air pressure is applied to check that no bubbles form on the surface of the footwear. Next, shoes are fitted to a mechanical arm that simulates walking and half immersed in water so we can test that the inside remains perfectly dry.
During the waterproofing test, we test 3 levels of waterproofing: 2000 flexes (around 2 hours of walking), 4000 flexes (around 4 hours of walking) and 8000 flexes (around 8 hours of walking). Of course, after this test or in use, the shoe regains its original waterproofing once the product is dry.
Arpenaz 100 Men's shoes are waterproof for 2000 flexes.
All our shoes are tested in comfort and in use by users who represent those, for whom the products are designed, under conditions identical to those that you can find in use. Our "Missions Tests" put the product manager in contact with people who are not affiliated with Quechua to test, develop and validate the products.
Other laboratory tests are also conducted to approve the quality of the following components: Tearing of the eyelets and straps, stitching, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion of the sole and the components of the upper, accelerated aging.
When taking up hiking, do not hesitate to take a size above your usual shoe size to guarantee an optimal comfort when walking downhill and to prevent your toes rubbing the tops of the shoe. Tip: Before any descent, make sure your nails are cut and check that your laces are tightened to prevent your foot from sliding forward in the shoe.
Try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks worn for hiking. Try on several models or sizes, if necessary. Check two comfort points: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going down. Avoid all pressure points when trying them on. Don't hesitate to walk around the store. Gradually start using you boots during your first few hiking trips to break them in.
